At the Royal Centre we are continuously seeking ways of making our building and services as accessible as possible to all our visitors.

In 2003 we were proud to be awarded a 'Highly Commended' by The Adapt Trust in recognition of our ongoing programme to improve facilities.

In December 2007 Theatre Projects Consultants were appointed to carry out a strategic review of the Royal Centre. This consultancy work included an assessment of the current facilities on offer and proposals have been put forward to ensure that the venue is future proofed for the next 30 years and beyond.

In 2009, as part of our ongoing refurbishment programme, access improvement works were carried out in the Royal Concert Hall. Two new wheelchair spaces and a new disabled toilet were created on Tier 1. In addition, the current disabled toilets were also upgraded.

In 2010, we are focusing our attentions on the Theatre Royal and investigating the possibility of a lift, as well as wheelchair access on to the Dress Circle level of the auditorium.
